The Nevada basketball team begins the quest for its first Mountain West championship Wednesday when it hosts San Jose State, a team that has been most accommodating to the Wolf Pack over the years.
Nevada has won 15 of its last 16 games against the Spartans – the lone loss coming in Reno in 2014 – and 25 of the last 27 games in the series, dating to the 2002-03 season. SJSU is just 5-49 in league play since moving to the MW in 2013, but the Spartans have shown more pep this season, plus Wolf Pack coach Eric Musselman says conference action always offers a different, and more difficult, challenge.
