The Nevada women’s basketball team opened up its Nugget Classic tournament Friday by taking a one-point halftime lead over Colorado.

But a 17-1 third-quarter advantage for the Buffaloes propelled the visitors to a 65-52 win. Colorado (4-0) led, 43-28, heading into the final period after keeping the Wolf Pack (1-3) scoreless from the floor in the third.

Nevada will play USC on Sunday (2 p.m.) to wrap up the event.

The Pack bounced back in the fourth on Friday, scoring 24 points, but was unable to get closer than 12.

Nevada finished with three players in double-figure in scoring, as seniors Terae Briggs and Jade Redmon, along with freshman Essence Booker, all scored 11 points.
