The Wolf Pack women’s basketball team snapped their slump in emphatic fashion by hammering rival and Mountain West co-leader UNLV, 75-55, on Tuesday night before 1,670 fans at Lawlor Events Center.
Nevada lost by two at UNLV earlier this season, but a stellar second quarter turned this game into a rout. The Wolf Pack, which had lost eight of its previous nine games, out-scored the Lady Rebels, 25-4, in the second quarter after making 7-of-10 shots and holding UNLV to 2-of-13 from the field.
Nevada (13-15, 6-11) finishes the regular season against San Diego State on Friday night at Lawlor with the seventh seed in next week’s MW Tournament on the line.
