Just five minutes into his post-game press conference following Saturday’s win over Colorado State that secured Nevada’s first Mountain West title, coach Eric Musselman was already looking to the future.
“We had a great celebration,” Musselman said. “It’s awesome. But it’s back to work Monday after these guys get a day off. We have to understand with great maturity that everybody is 0-0 going into this tournament. We had a great non-conference, a great regular season in conference, but it’s about maturity and understanding everybody has a chance, and everybody does have a chance.”
As in, everybody has a chance to win this week’s MW Tournament in Las Vegas, which will decide who gets the league’s automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament, which Nevada hasn’t reach since 2007.
