After being delayed a year because of rising construction costs, the Wolf Pack will break ground on Donald L. Jensen Plaza, a new grand entrance at Mackay Stadium's north end, prior to its annual Silver & Blue Spring Game on April 28.
The project has been multiple years in the making. It started in 2014 as a micro-donation campaign dubbed Champions Plaza in which fans bought bricks with their names on them to fund the project. After stalling, the facility improvement received a shot in the arm after Donald L. Jensen, a longtime university supporter, donated a lead gift.
