Wolf Pack survives its final non-conference test

LAS VEGAS – Before a second had even dripped off the clock of Nevada’s game against Santa Barbara on Thursday afternoon, the Wolf Pack had already missed a free throw. It was the first of many misses.

UCSB was whistled for an “administrative technical” before the opening tip-off, giving Nevada a free throw shot before the game began. The normally reliable Marcus Marshall missed it. It was the first of 17 missed free throws for Nevada, but the Wolf Pack did just enough to hold off the underdog Gauchos.

Nevada culminated its best non-conference run in a decade with a 67-66 win over the UCSB at the Las Vegas Holiday Hoops Classic.
