The San Diego State jinx is over.
Nevada snapped its seven-game skid against the Aztecs on Wednesday night at Lawlor Events Center, scoring its first win against SDSU since moving to the Mountain West in 2012. The 72-69 victory was the Wolf Pack’s first against the Aztecs since beating them twice in the 1998-99 season.
In a matchup of the MW’s two preseason favorites, the Wolf Pack used a 12-4 run to end the first half and a 7-3 run to begin the second to take a 42-34 lead and control of the game. Nevada never trailed after that, allowing SDSU hung in it until the final seconds behind some hot shooting from three.
