Ty Gangi’s football career has been filled with roadblocks. He hasn’t met one that has stopped him yet.
After his freshman season at St. Francis High in Southern California, Gangi appeared destined to take over as the team’s starter as a sophomore before the highly touted Jared Lebowitz transferred into the school, keeping Gangi on the bench until his senior year.
That turn of events kept Gangi from getting an FBS scholarship offer out of high school, so he walked on at Colorado, transferred to Ventura College the following season and eventually landed at Nevada, where last year he was stuck behind the Wolf Pack’s incumbent starter, Tyler Stewart, on the depth chart.
