SAN JOSE, Calif. – For the second straight week, the Nevada defense was on the field, its back under the shadow of its goal posts, the game solely in its hands and the unit just needing one big play to seal a victory.
But unlikely last week, when the Wolf Pack held Fresno State scoreless in the final minute on a first-and-goal situation, Nevada couldn’t bow up this time as nimble San Jose State quarterback Kenny Potter’s miraculous dive to pylon ultimately proved fatal for the Wolf Pack in a 14-10 loss at a rain-soaked CEFCU Stadium.
