Season-openers don't get much better than this.
After its first event, Nevada has the top-ranked men's golfer in the nation. Following his individual title last week at the Badger Invite, Nevada sophomore Joey Vrzich leads the Golfweek collegiate rankings.
Vrzich earned a rating of 64.66 from Golfweek. He is the only player from a mid-major program ranked in the top 10 and is one of three ranked in the top 25. As a team, Nevada is ranked No. 22. The Golfweek system is based on a formula that compares players who play on the same course on the same day, then links all players based on common opponents.
