The Wolf Pack men's golf team had three straight runner-up finishes during the fall season but finally broke through Saturday to win its first tournament since 2009.
Nevada took home the team title at the Jackrabbit Invitational at the Siena Golf Club in Las Vegas, besting rival UNLV, which is ranked 17th in the nation.
This is the first tournament victory for the Wolf Pack since the 2009-10 season when it won the Saint Mary’s Invitational. It also marks the first win for head coach Jacob Wilner. Nevada was not scheduled to compete in this event but after a cancellation earlier this week Wilner added the Jackrabbit Invitational.
