The Wolf Pack football team has moved up its season opener by one day.
Nevada will host Cal Poly on Friday, Sept. 2 rather than the original date of Sept. 3. The game is scheduled for a 6:30 p.m. kickoff.
The game will be the first at Mackay Stadium after its $11.5 million renovation, which began in January. The renovation will include the addition of an 8,000-square-foot club level; 38 four-seat loge boxes on the west side; 3,880 permanent chair-backs; expansion of the east-side suites; and widening of aisles and more handrails for ADA compliance.
Mackay Stadium, which will celebrate its 50th anniversary this season, also will be outfitted with a new video board and sound system that will debut for the game against Cal Poly, which plays in the FCS.
