The Wolf Pack baseball team started the postseason just as it ended the regular season: on fire.
After winning 14 of its final 16 games to end the year, Nevada crushed San Diego State, 13-5, in its Mountain West Tournament opener on Wednesday at Albuquerque, N.M. The Wolf Pack averaged nearly nine runs per game over the last month of the season but was even more potent at the plate against the Aztecs.
First baseman Jordan Pearce, named an all-conference player earlier in the day, was 3-for-4 with three runs scored, three RBIs, a double and two triples.
