Wolf Pack adds Gus Argenal to basketball staff

The Wolf Pack basketball team hired Monday Gus Argenal as an assistant coach. He replaces Ronald Dupree, who took an assistant job in the NBA.

Argenal spent the last four seasons as the head coach of Cal State East Bay, an NCAA division II school in Hayward, Calif.

“I have known of Gus’ reputation in the Bay Area for many years as he was a standout player,” Wolf Pack head coach Eric Musselman said in a news release. “He has worked under some great coaches Rob Evans (Arizona State), Brooks Thompson, Greg Clink (Chico State), Ben Braun (Rice), Jim Les (UC Davis) and played high school basketball for legendary De La Salle coach Frank Allocco.
