Malik Reed, the Wolf Pack’s two-time All-Mountain West defensive end, could have stuck at the position he’s played since high school and continued to be one of the best pass rushers on the West Coast.

But when the Nevada football team lined up for its first spring camp practice last week, Reed was not standing with the other defensive linemen. Instead, he was working with the linebackers as the Wolf Pack moved its best defensive player from the previous two seasons to a position he has never played before.
