The Wolf Pack athletic department held its second annual "Wolfie" awards Tuesday night at Lawlor Events Center to honor its student-athletes.
The Jayme King Inspiration Award, named for the former Wolf Pack softball player who twice beat cancer before passing last year, was given to Kashae Knox of the track and field team and cheerleader Stephanie Kappus, who both have both fought battles with cancer.
“It’s such an honor to receive this award," Kappus said. "I never had the privilege to meet Jayme but I heard her speech last year and I know it touched all of our hearts.
