Jay Norvell was officially hired Friday as the 26th head coach in Nevada football history.
“I want to thank University president Marc Johnson and Doug Knuth for this tremendous opportunity,” Norvell said in a news release. “Our family is humbled and honored to lead the Nevada football program. It is our charge to make this the flagship program of the Mountain West Conference.”
Here is what they are saying about the Norvell hire.
“I’ve known Jay since he was an 18-year-old and we recruited to the University of Iowa. He was an intense individual, a leader on our team and an outstanding player.
