The Mountain West’s West Division could have a familiar look at the end of the 2022 regular season.
San Diego State and Fresno State are, once again, expected to be the class of the division, with none of the other four schools appearing to have the depth on both sides of the ball to become serious contenders. Between them, the Bulldogs and Aztecs have won seven of the eight West titles in MW history.
However the race turns out, it will be the final West Division title awarded. The conference is switching to a one-division format, beginning with the 2023 season.
