* IF YOU HAD JAN. 10, 2016 in your “When will UNLV fire Dave Rice?” office pool you won. It was just a matter of time before it happened, although the timing was odd at just three games into conference play, albeit three losses. If a bad two-week stretch – UNLV lost those three games by six points, so there was some bad luck in there, too – was enough to get Rice fired, then what was the point in bringing him back for this season, outside of his ability to land McDonald’s All-American Stephen Zimmerman?
