Week in 1,000 Words: In football, new MW is old WAC

Reno Gazette-Journal columnist Chris Murray has been known to be a bit wordy, so we're giving him 1,000 words (no more than that) to share his thoughts from the week that was in the world of sports.

* IS IT JUST ME, OR HAS NEVADA’S schedule been pretty weak this year? Well, the Sagarin ratings don’t think it’s just me. The Wolf Pack’s strength of schedule, per Sagarin, ranks 124th in the nation (there are 127 FBS teams), which is the program’s softest schedule since at least 1998, when Sagarin first started his rankings (I like to use Sagarin because they’re wide accepted as a great measure and include teams from all divisions, not just the FBS, so it’s a better all-around measure).
