Virginia Tech crushes Wolf Pack, 24-10, in finale

The Wolf Pack baseball team started off the 2016 season slowly before finding a groove late in the year.

The 2017 season is beginning in similar fashion.

Nevada lost a slugfest to Virginia Tech, 24-10, on Sunday at Peccole Park to drop to 2-6 on the young year. Virginia Tech improved to 7-1.

After a scoreless first inning by both teams, the offensive onslaught began.

Virginia Tech's Rahiem Cooper was the star of the game. The senior hit three homers, including two grand slams. His slam in the second inning opened the scoring and he added another in the fifth.
