A conference opener can never truly be dubbed a “must win” game, but the Nevada football team’s game at Fresno State – the Mountain West opener for both teams – is pretty close to that.
Nevada has preached this week the start of conference play is a clean slate and fresh start, so showing Saturday that MW action will be different than non-conference play is a must as the Wolf Pack tries to avoid a 0-5 start to the season for the first time since 1964 when the Dick Trachok-led Wolf Pack began the year 0-9.
