With NFL training camps beginning this week and all teams reporting by the end of next week, a dozen players with local ties will begin the process of trying to make their respective 53-man active rosters.
However, the most notable development heading into training camp is the lack of a roster spot for former Wolf Pack star Colin Kaepernick, who remains unsigned after starting for the San Francisco 49ers last season, with some arguing he is being blacklisted from the league for his National Anthem protest last year.
As Kaepernick waits to get his chance, 10 more Wolf Pack alums, one Reno native and one Winnemucca resident will start the six-week process to the final roster cut down.
