Josh Taylor's absence from Nevada didn't last long.
The former Wolf Pack baseball player and softball assistant coach was named the head coach of the softball program Wednesday.
After four season as an assistant at Nevada, Taylor accepted the head job at the College of Southern Nevada two months ago. But when Matt Meuchel, the Wolf Pack's head coach the last eight seasons, left Nevada for an assistant position at Arkansas, Taylor quickly returned to the Wolf Pack for the top spot.
“We are pleased to bring Josh Taylor back to Nevada to lead our softball program," Wolf Pack athletic director Doug Knuth said in a news release.
