Steve Alford officially becomes the new Nevada basketball coach; Twitter has thoughts

RENO, Nevada — The Nevada men's basketball team has hired former UCLA coach Steve Alford as the Wolf Pack's new head coach.

Alford, who coached the Bruins for six seasons, was fired from UCLA on Dec. 31, 2018. He reached the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament three times during that span.

The news comes after former Nevada head coach Eric Musselman left the team for the University of Arkansas on April 7. Musselman had reached the NCAA Tournament in each of his past three seasons with the Wolf Pack.
