Softball: Wolf Pack edges UNLV in wild 14-13 game

The Nevada softball team edged rival UNLV, 14-13, Sunday in Las Vegas to clinch a series victory.

Senior Megan Sweet was the catalyst for the Wolf Pack (30-9 overall, 8-4 Mountain West). She went 4-for-5 with six RBI and two home runs, giving her a program-record 35 for her career. The career mark had been held by Brittany Puzey since 2009.

McKenna Isenberg (11-5) earned the win for Nevada after allowing one earned run and striking out four in four innings of relief.

Nevada is tied for second in the Mountain West standings with San Jose State, which visits Reno this weekend for a three-game series.
