For the first time, the most prestigious honor for a Nevada football player is being shared.
Wolf pack senior quarterback Ty Gangi and senior linebacker Malik Reed were named as co-winners of the team’s Golden Helmet Award earlier this week at Nevada football’s annual awards ceremony.
Gangi completed 61 percent of his passes for 3,131 yards and 23 touchdowns. He won the Golden Helmet award last year as a junior and became the first Wolf Pack player to win the award in back-to-back seasons since Colin Kaepernick, who won three years in a row (2008-2010).
