Even though he's now a member of the Nevada Wolf Pack, Dave Rice's extensive history at UNLV still forms his basketball backbone.
The 47-year-old coach played for the Rebels from 1989-91, was a graduate assistant for the school in 1991-92, was a full-time assistant from 1994-2004 and was the program’s head coach from 2011-16.
Rice is a UNLV graduate, as is his wife, Mindy. Both of his sons, Travis and Dylan, were born in Southern Nevada. And when he was hired in 2011, he became just the sixth UNLV grad in any sport to become a head coach at the school.
