The Nevada Board of Regents on Friday approved the contract of new UNLV basketball coach Marvin Menzies by a 12-1 vote.
After an hour of discussion, the contract was voted through. Only chairman Richard Trachok voted against the deal, citing his standing policy that he would not approve a coaching contract in excess of $400,000, the figure Nevada basketball coach Eric Musselman agreed to in March 2015.Menzies agreed to a five-year, $3.7 million contract with the Rebels last weekend but the contract was not official until the Regents' vote.
Menzies replaces Chris Beard, who agreed to a five-year, $5.
