The summer before she entered her freshman year at Nevada, Alyssa Zunino arrived at her house to find a plastic tube waiting for her at the front door.
A Galena High graduate, Zunino was an all-league basketball player and all-region softball player in high school. She wanted to play a sport in college but also was planning to major in engineering. Given the travel schedule required to play softball, Zunino knew she couldn’t juggle both softball and engineering.
Her future sport had to be less time consuming. Her future sport was sitting in the tube at her front door.
