MILWAUKEE – Here’s a fun stat for you: Iowa State point guard Monte Morris could turn the ball over 59 times without an assist Thursday against Nevada and still have the best assist-to-turnover ratio in NCAA history.
That outcome – credit to Bleacher Report’s CJ Moore for that stat – is obviously not going to happen, but it underscores how special Morris is. Slowing down Morris, rated by many as one of the top-10 players in the NCAA Tournament, will be one of the top keys for Nevada in its first-round matchup.
“It’s hard describe how much he means to us, to me, to this program, to this university,” Iowa State coach Steve Prohm said.
