For the third time in the last five weeks, Nevada's Mark Nowaczewski has won the Mountain West pitcher of the week award.
The Reed High graduate pitched the best game of his college career Saturday against UNLV. He allowed just one run during the complete-game victory, a 4-1 decision. Nowaczewski, a junior, struck out five and scattered six hits and three walks in his third complete game of the season. The victory clinched the Governor's Series title for the school.
In 13 starts this season, Nowaczewski is 5-5 with a 3.61 ERA, which leads all MW pitchers.
