EmKay Myers has recorded several school records, won multiple conference medals and been named All-Mountain West a number of times during her illustrious career at Nevada, but she had never competed at the NCAA Championships. That's going to change.
The Wolf Pack senior qualified for next month's national championships in Eugene, Ore., after placing fourth in her heat in the 3,000-meter steeplechase during Friday's NCAA West Preliminaries in Austin, Texas. The top-three finishers in each of the three heats, plus the next three best times (12 qualifiers overall), all moved into the NCAA Championships.
Running her third steeplechase of the year, Myers made the cut.
