The Nevada baseball team scored a win in its regular-season finale, but so, too, did New Mexico, which gave the Wolf Pack the third seed in next week's Mountain West Tournament, one seed shy of a bye.
Nevada wasn't able to defend its MW regular-season title from a season ago but did surpass the preseason expectations. Picked to finish sixth out of seven MW teams in the preseason poll, the Wolf Pack capped the season 33-22 overall and 20-10 in the MW, a tie for second alongside New Mexico.
Fresno State won the regular season title with a 21-9 conference mark, one game ahead of Nevada and New Mexico.
