The Wolf Pack baseball team extended one streak Friday and ended another.
Nevada beat San Diego State, 5-3, in an elimination game of the Mountain West Tournament in Albuquerque, N.M. The Wolf Pack (35-23) improved to 8-0 against SDSU this season and ended the Aztecs' streak of 14 straight wins in elimination games at the MW Tournament. SDSU has won the last three conference tournaments.
But Trenton Brooks, a San Diego-area native, shut down SDSU, facing the minimum through the first 13 batters. He allowed just five base runners in 7.2 innings as Nevada took a 5-0 lead before holding on late.
