It might not be the postseason tournament the Wolf Pack softball team was aiming for when the season began, but Nevada's 2017 campaign will continue even after wrapping up its regular season last Saturday.
The Wolf Pack will compete in the inaugural Postseason National Invitational Softball Championships starting Tuesday in Stockton, Calif. Nevada was selected to play in the 26-team tournament over the weekend.
This marks the Wolf Pack's first postseason appearance since 2009, when it won the WAC Tournament and competed in the NCAA Regionals. Softball also is just the third Nevada program to reach a postseason tournament as a full team since the Wolf Pack moved to the Mountain West in 2012.
