The Wolf Pack softball team spotted Santa Barbara a five-run lead before rallying for a miraculous walk-off win in its National Invitational Softball Championships opener Tuesday in Stockton, Calif.
Playing in its first postseason game since 2009, Nevada got down early after the Gauchos scored twice in the opening frame and three more times in the third inning to take a 5-0 lead. Nevada responded with two in the fourth and three in the fifth before Mele Tausinga's walk-off homer in the seventh.
The Wolf Pack (29-23) cracked four homers over the final four innings to stay in the winners' bracket of the double-elimination tournament.
