* Wolf Pack football coach Brian Polian was on shaky ground entering the final two weeks of the season but wins over Utah State and UNLV to close the 2016 campaign appears to have given him a more solid footing, especially considering the beating Nevada put on the rival Rebels.
Polian, who has one year left on his contract, was asked about his job status following the big win and said the program is in a good place despite going 5-7 and not making a bowl for only the second time since 2005.
