Pack notes: Hug pipeline continues with Porter brothers

Only 2.1 miles separate Mackay Stadium from Rollins Stallworth Stadium, the home of the Hug High Hawks football team.

And, quietly, the Wolf Pack has built a steady pipeline of players from Hug to its campus a short drive to the west.

This year will mark the 10th straight season the Wolf Pack will have at least one player on its roster from Hug High, the longest active streak of any local high school. The school, which was founded in 1968 and has a strong athletic heritage, has three players on this year’s team, including a pair of brothers in Cliff Porter, an offensive tackle, and Devin Porter, a linebacker who has jokingly been referred to as “Skinny Porter.
