Pack hoops picked to finish second in the MW

The Wolf Pack will enter the season with heightened expectations.

That much was made clear Wednesday when Nevada was picked by the league’s media to finish second in the conference behind only San Diego State, which has won the MW regular-season title three straight seasons and in five of the last six years.

Nevada received 253 votes in the poll of 27 media members. San Diego State (293 points) earned 23 of the first-place votes with New Mexico (249) taking three first-place votes and Fresno State (200) one.

Wolf Pack coach Eric Musselman said SDSU and New Mexico have a leg up on the field entering the season given their sustained history of success and returning talent.
