The Wolf Pack’s charter flight home after its lopsided loss at Hawaii last Saturday left around midnight and the team didn’t arrive at its football facility until 9 a.m. Sunday morning. It was a quiet red-eye filled with frustration.
“It was harsh,” Wolf Pack running back James Butler said.
But by the following day, the players had tried to bury the loss and move on to its next game against Fresno State. And it did so by holding a rare players-only meeting Monday to try and get its season back on track.
“Being a captain of the team, you kind of feel held responsible,” said Butler, a junior.
