MILWAUKEE – When the curtain closed on Nevada's 2016-17 season following its loss to Iowa State on Thursday night, it opened on the 2017-18 season just seconds later as the Wolf Pack enters an offseason filled with optimism and uncertainty.
We’ll start with the optimism: (1) Nevada loses only two seniors (All-Mountain West standouts Marcus Marshall and D.J. Fenner); (2) four of its top six players were underclassmen this season and should continue to grow; (3) four transfers from power conferences who sat out this season under NCAA rules will become eligible; and (4) the team got some much needed NCAA Tournament experience that can only help in the future.
