Pack baseball scorching hot entering MW Tournament

The Wolf Pack baseball team entered last year’s Mountain West Tournament ranked 23rd in the nation after demolishing the league in the regular season. Nevada was being hailed by Baseball America as a “sleeper team” in the upcoming NCAA Regionals. And the tournament was being held in Reno at Peccole Park, where the Wolf Pack was 16-5.

Things were set up perfectly.

And then Nevada was ambushed in the tournament, being 10-run-ruled by New Mexico, 14-4 in seven innings in its first game, before being ousted from the tournament by eventual champs, San Diego State, a day later.
