Pack alum Kyle Shiloh wins championship, retires on top

Former Wolf Pack basketball player Kyle Shiloh is going out on top.

Shiloh, a glue player during Nevada’s run of four straight NCAA Tournament appearances from 2004-07, played his final game as a professional basketball player Wednesday and he did so as a champion.

Playing for Kouvot in the city of Kouvola, Shiloh and his teammates won the Korisliiga league title, which is Finland’s top basketball league. Shiloh averaged 15 points, 3.4 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game during the best-of-seven championship series against Tampereen Pyrintö, which Kouvot won, 4-1.

Kouvola finished off the series Wednesday with a 100-76 victory for its first championship since 2004 and just the fourth in franchise history (the league started in 1938, with the postseason tournament beginning 1980).
