Nevada and UTEP, two former rivals in the WAC, will reunite on the football field in 2019 and 2020.
The team schools haven’t met since 2002 but have signed an agreement to play two non-conference games down the road. The deal, which was first reported by FBSchedules.com, will have Nevada play at UTEP on Sept. 21, 2019 with the Miners returning the favor and coming to Reno on Sept. 12, 2020.
Each road team will get $400,000 from the home team as part of the home-and-home agreement.
The contract comes with a $400,000 buyout if the games are canceled, although if the games are canceled do to conference realignment that buyout cost is waved.
