The Wolf Pack defense will get its toughest test of the season Saturday when it faces a Notre Dame offense loaded with big playmakers – both literally and figuratively – but there is one positive.
Nevada won’t be facing the triple-option.
The Wolf Pack had to deal with that hard-to-stop offense in its season opener against Cal Poly, a 30-27 overtime victory, but will get a more tradition look from Notre Dame’s spread offense.
“The triple-option is something that’s really hard to prepare for because you don’t see it every day and on top of that it’s a physical battle,” said Wolf Pack safety Asauni Rufus, who had seven tackles and forced a fumble against Cal Poly.
