Notes: Pack feels prepared for huge Notre Dame crowd

When the Wolf Pack football team walks into Notre Dame Stadium on Saturday, “one of the great cathedrals of college football,” as coach Brian Polian put it, more than 80,000 Fighting Irish fans will await them.

The game, which is sold out – every Notre Dame home game this year has already sold out – will feature one of the five largest crowds the Wolf Pack has ever played before. But neither Polian, nor his players, expect the crowd and atmosphere to play a factor in the game. After all, Nevada played before 102,591 fans last season when it traveled to Texas A&M’s Kyle Field, the fourth-largest stadium in the U.
