ATLANTA – The Wolf Pack’s San Antonio dreams came crashing down Thursday at Philips Arena as Nevada’s comeback kids couldn’t pull out its Sweet 16 game against Loyola despite a late charge.

No. 7 seed Nevada lost to No. 11 Loyola, 69-68, to end its run at the NCAA Tournament and season at 29-8. The Wolf Pack opened on fire, making seven of its first nine shots, to take a 20-8 lead, but the offense collapsed after that. Nevada scored just four points in the last 13 minutes, 36 seconds of the half and didn’t tally a point for the final 7:55 before intermission.
