Nevada's Marcus Marshall named MW player of the week

Wolf Pack guard Marcus Marshall hit a game-winning shot Sunday and picked up his first Mountain West award Monday.

The senior, who scored 32 points in an 87-85 victory over Washington on Sunday, was named the conference's player of the week. It was the second straight honor for a Nevada player after Jordan Caroline was named the MW player of the week the week prior.

Marshall hit a high-degree-of-difficulty shot from about 16 feet out with 0.2 seconds left on the clock to give Nevada the victory. Marshall, who also went over 1,000 career college points in the game, said it was the first time he hit a game-winner that late in the clock.
