Nevada women hold off San Jose State for first Mountain West win

The Nevada women’s basketball team picked up its first Mountain West win of the season Wednesday night, holding on for a 52-49 win at San Jose State.

For the Wolf Pack (5-9 overall, 1-2 MW), senior Jade Redmon led all scorers and tied her season high with 18 points. She hit 6-of-10 from the field and finished 5-of-5 from the free-throw line.

The Wolf Pack outrebounded the Spartans, 45-29, its largest margin of the season. Terae Briggs led the Pack with nine rebounds.

Nevada took the lead for good at the 5:01 mark of the fourth quarter when Briggs drew a foul on a layup that tied the game at 44.
